I stopped at Cracker Barrel the other night and got some snacks. The Sunkist Fruit Gems were a no brainer, I always like a good gummy snack. The Cheese Straws looked interesting so I picked up a box of those too. They aren’t straws. They look like chicken nuggets from a fast food place. They taste a little like the cheddar cheese in the ingredient list, but they are dry and have a gritty coating. There is also a bit of a kick to them as Cayenne Pepper is the last ingredient on the list. It was nice to try something new but I don’t think I will get them again.
It has not been long now that we started using a Breville toaster oven, but I already know it is my favorite small appliance. The metal is cut well, with no sharp edges. There is an easily removable drip tray. The timer is spot-on and easy to use. I highly recommend this product. Now for some more toast.
I purchased enough socks to replace my aging collection of holy misfits. I gave sockbin.com a try and so far am very pleased. It was only $37 for 12 pairs of white and 12 pairs of black socks. The white socks that were shipped to me were the wrong size so I emailed their support and they responded the next morning to let me know the correct socks had been reshipped and that I should just keep the wrong ones. I guess I can use them for sock puppets, or maybe one of my friends can use them. Either way, I am a happy customer and can recommend sockbin.com to the rest of the Internet looking for socks.
If you own your home and want to add some storage, built-in cabinets are a pretty good way to go. Its not complicated. The hardest part is telling yourself, “Look, whatever is done can be undone.” So take your favorite oscillating power tool, cut your baseboards precisely to fit the new cabinets, and install them flush against the wall. Trust me, it will look great and if you ever want to change it you can always install some new baseboard…now where did I put my brad nailer?
You want to scroll but there are no scroll bars, in fact, you aren’t even sure if there is anything to scroll to. Its annoying.
To scroll up and down on MacOS X using the Trackpad, use two fingers. No, not three, that does something completely different. Good luck!
We stayed at the Universal Studios Orlando Resort this past weekend, the Portofino Bay Hotel to be more precise. The room was nice and big, the service was excellent, the spa was a great experience, and the location was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you have kids, because whether you bring them or not, you will appreciate all of the added touches that make the resort romantic, yet kid-friendly at the same time.
If you order room service, get the French Toast. The Omelette was good too, as were the breakfast potatoes. Skip the fruit plate though, it was over priced and a lot of the fruit was not ripe.
If you have to come and go, definitely use valet, its convenient and will save you a lot of time.
I didn’t have time to ride the water taxi to City Walk, but that is definitely one of the perks to staying at the Portofino. I can’t wait to go back.
Buying a MacBook Pro at the Apple Store is a little like using the MacOS X for the first time. You know its a store, just like you know its a computer, but it isn’t entirely clear how to do anything with either.
I stood in front of the laptop I was interested in buying, all of the employees were wearing red shirts but making eye contact with them was difficult. Eventually, a red shirt came to me and said he would help me find another red shirt. Eventually, the red shirt came back and brought with him another red shirt who didn’t exactly exude confidence.
I knew what I wanted, so from that point forward it wasn’t a problem, yet I still felt as though the experience was distracting and much more difficult than it should have been.
My brain is having a hard time holding all of the information I would like it to. I setup this blog to help me remember and maybe provide some helpful information to others.
Thanks for reading!
